Lillian Gladys Kinser (Mayhew)

Lillian Kinser, 100, of Independence, Missouri passed away July,15, 2018. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, July 22, 2018 at New Walnut Park Community of Christ, 1137 S. Pearl, Independence, Missouri 64050. Funeral services will be 10am Monday, July 23, 2018 at the New Walnut Park Community of Christ. Burial will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery.
Lillian Gladys (Mayhew) Kinser was born on a homestead near Westby, Montana, on November 17, 1917, and celebrated her 100th birthday that same day in 2017. She had many stories of life on the prairie including going to school by horse and buggy, and being a part of the early pioneer settlers in the area. Her family moved to Independence, MO, when 8 years old, and she was baptized in the Stone Church Annex. Lillian graduated from William Chrisman High School, and from Kansas City Business College with a secretarial certificate. She worked at Montgomery Wards in Kansas City as a comptometer for 2 years. Later she worked as a secretary/recorder for 43 years at the New Walnut Park Community of Christ. She was also a group women’s leader for 20 years, and girl’s leader for 15 years. Lillian enjoyed cooking, sewing, homecare, and going fishing with her husband and family. She was loved by many friends and family, and will be greatly missed. Lillian is survived by; daughter Lois Brewer and her husband David; daughter Marilyn Tindall; grandchildren: Lavon Gard, Dana Clark and her husband Kevin, Linda Speigle and her husband Richard, Evan Tindall and his wife Sandra and Jana Soule and her husband Kenneth, Jr.; great grandchildren: Tyler and Tanner Gard, Alissa and Carolyn Clark, Lexi, Carter and Claire Tindall, Marissa and Samantha Soule; niece Sharon Hogan and her husband Richard; many nieces and nephews; a large extended family and many friends. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Walnut Park Community of Christ.
