Daimon Eugene Kirby, 74, Independence, Mo. died May 16, 2005. Services will be 11 am, Thursday, May 19 at Immanuel Baptist Church; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Wed. at Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Assoc. Daimon was born Nov. 26, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio. He worked at Lake City Munitions Plant for 21 years and retired in 1991. He was a member of the church and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Daimon was a Past Commander of VFW #9997, M.O.C. #18 Past Seam Squirrel, American Legion Post #21, and the "McDonalds Breakfast Club�. He was preceded in death by daughter Patricia Kirby; son Daimon Kirby, Jr.; daughter Deborah K. Plumberg; grandson Robert Eric Kirby; his parents Theo & Bertha Kirby; five brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife Nancy R. Kirby, of the home; daughter Nancy Jean Yeoman and husband David, Nashville, Ga; daughter Valerie A. Carey and husband Steve, Huntsville, Al; son Doyle D. Kirby and wife Julie, Emporia, Ks; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way, to be named Daimon
