Nancy Ruth Kirby, 86, of Hazel Green, Alabama, formerly of Independence, Missouri, went to be with Jesus and have a very big family reunion on Thursday morning when she peacefully passed away while at her home. She was a Christian and worshipped at First Baptist Church of Meridianville.
She could always make others laugh and cry, and her family knew that she loved them. She had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She was a spunky, funny, tough (her nickname was "Tuffy"), and loving mom. Throughout her life she faithfully volunteered with many organizations, especially veteran-related service organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Daimon Eugene Kirby; Her children: Nancy Jean Yeoman, Patricia Gaylene Kirby, Daimon Eugene Kirby Jr, Deborah Kay Plumberg; Her grandson, Robert Eric Kirby; Her parents, Willis & Helen Lucile "Dolly" Bledsoe, and by four sisters and two brothers;
Surviving family members include her daughter, Valerie Ann Carey; Her son, Doyle Dean Kirby; She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her uncle, Victor Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 3pm at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with Priest, Jim Cox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospitals or The Wounded Warriors Project.
