Robert Kent Kirkendoll, 42, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, June 22, 2003 at his home. A graveside service will be 11 am Friday, June 27th at Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron, MO. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 8:30 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Kent was born April 1, 1961 in Chillicothe, MO to Robert D. Kirkendoll and Helen Dorene (Barron) Kirkendoll. He resided his entire life in Independence, MO. Kent was an active and successful participant in motorcross racing as a youngster and enjoyed swimming and water skiing. He attended Fort Osage High School where he excelled in wrestling and graduated valvictorian status in 1979. He graduated from Longview Community College majoring in Associate Applied Science. Kent enjoyed fishing dancing, country music and being with his friends. He was employed for approximately 12 years as a building inspector for the City of Independence. Kent was preceded in death by his father, Robert; paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather. He is survived by his mother, Helen Dorene Hussey and step-father, Lonnie Joe Hussey of Utica, MO; son, Greg Michael; step-sisters, Holly Neill of Chillicothe, MO, Shannon Reith of Havelock, NC; step-brothers, Darin Hussey of Columbia, MO, Chris Shockey of Burlington, CO, and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
