Kathleen Gayle Kirkham

Kathleen Gayle Kirkham, 66 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at her residence. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Kathleen was born January 26, 1949 in Independence, MO to William and Cecil (Mack) Kirkham and has been a lifelong area resident attending St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduating from William Chrisman in 1968. She had worked in the billing department for several medical offices in the metro area for 40 years, most recently Rockhill Orthopedic. She had raised horses and enjoyed antique shopping. She is survived by: 2 sons, Nicholas Smith and wife Sarah of Blue Springs, MO and Shawn Lancaster and wife Rachel of Independence, MO; a brother, Britt Kirkham of Versailles, MO; her mother, Cecil Kirkham of Versailles and 3 grandchildren, Maslyn, Eaden and Haven.
