DONALD JOHN KLAUSTERMEYER
Donald John Klaustermeyer, 85, passed away on August 28, 2014, at Willshire in Lakewood.
A visitation will be Monday, September 1, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO. The family will welcome the public at 10:00am Tuesday, September 2, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 700 NE Chipman Road, Lees Summit, MO, 64063, with a funeral service to begin at the church at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Alma, MO.
Donald was born June 13, 1929, to Ernest and Christine (Westerman) Klaustermeyer in Alma, MO. He graduated from Alma High School in the class of 1947. Donald married his childhood sweetheart, Frances Kempfe, on June 18, 1950. He worked for Continental Airlines for 36 years. Donald enjoyed golfing, fishing, painting, traveling, camping, and his family most of all. He always had a smile on his face and was well-loved by many he touched in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ernest Klaustermeyer, Jr. (“Shorty”); and sisters, Marie Mueller, Erna Spears, and Dorothy Limpus.
He is survived by wife, Frances (“Sweetheart”); son, Michael (Janice) Klaustermeyer; daughters Patty (Ron) Snyder and Kelly (Paul) Mulley; grandchildren Erik and Matt Klaustermeyer, Chris and Kyle Snyder, Lindsay (Snyder) Nielson, Marissa Mulley, four great-grandchildren, and his other best gal, Hailee, the Shih-Tzu.
