Sylvia Gail Kleoppel, 79 of Odessa, MO passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation. Gail was born October 11, 1937 in Concordia, MO to Edward and Anna M. (Bell) Bayless. She graduated from Grain Valley High School. She was a beloved wife mother and homemaker who enjoyed knitting, reading, canning, fishing and camping. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and former member of St. George Catholic Church in Odessa where she was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Pam Borchers and husband David of Blue Springs, MO and Beth Decaria and husband Mike of Kingsville, MO; 6 sons, Randy Kleoppel and wife Michelle of Odessa, MO, Terry Kleoppel and wife Darlene of Centerview, MO, Ray Kleoppel and wife Dawn of Blue Springs, MO, Brad Kleoppel and wife Genny of Odessa, MO, Allen Kleoppel of Independence, MO and Brian Kleoppel and wife Wendy of Odessa, MO; 26 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a brother in law, Jimmy and wife Shirley Kleoppel of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Kleoppel, Sr in 1999, a daughter, Debra Kleoppel and a son, David Kleoppel.
