John Peter Kleuver Jr.

November 1, 1934 — March 28, 2014

John P. Kleuver, Jr., 79, Kansas City, MO died unexpectedly March 28, 2014. Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, April 3 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Assoc., 6900 College Blvd #250, Leawood, KS 66211. John was born Nov. 1, 1934 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Sears at 15th & Cleveland for thirty-eight years and retired in 1991. He was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, fishing for crappie and catfish, estate sales and auctions, his dog Rocky and was a sports fan of the Royals and Chiefs. John was preceded in death by daughter Sandra Butner and grandson Joseph Butner. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Wilma Kleuver, of the home; son John Kleuver III, Seattle, WA; brother Charles Kleuver, Independence, MO; granddaughter Jessica Reynolds and husband Bruce, Blue Springs, MO; and three great-grandchildren.
