Jo Delia Kliefoth, 77, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021.
Jo was born on July 12, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie (Cringan) Shortino.
She graduated from Hogan High School and went on to college at St. Mary’s in Leavenworth, Kanas.
She married Danny in 1971 and to this union daughter, Rebecca was born.
Jo worked in education and taught at Our Lady of Lords for 8 years. She was very active at Nativity of Mary during the years her daughter, niece, nephew and grandchildren attended school. This included substitute teaching, coaching, working in the library, and volunteering as a PTO and Athletic Committee member.
She was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. She collected penguins, loved reading, enjoyed the theater, and loved cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Jo and her daughter for several years were season ticket holders to Starlight. Her favorite shows being Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and My Fair Lady. Jo loved to travel and made it a personal goal to travel to all 50 states. She was able to achieve this goal in 2018 taking a cruise with Danny and her sister Phyllis to her last state, Hawaii.
Jo is survived by her soulmate and husband of 50 years, Danny Kliefoth; daughter, Rebecca (Andrew) Adkins; grandchildren, Hailey Weishaar, Sadie Adkins, Tayler (Chris) Joslen, Jacob Dec, Joshua Dec; sister, Phyllis Sandy; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by, her parents Joseph and Jessie Shortino, and sister, Louwana McNamara.
