Chevette Susann Kneyse was escorted to her new forever home by Jesus on May 24, 2022 from her home in Blue Springs, Mo.
Chevette was born November 30, 1947, in Saskatoon, Sask., Canada. She was the first of seven children born to George and Ina Chvala. She spent her childhood on the family farm, 10 miles north of North Battleford, Sask. In 1966 she moved to Independence, Mo., to study nursing at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1969.
Upon graduation Chevette worked at the hospital on the surgical floor and later in the Intensive Care Unit. Later she taught in the Jennie Lund LPN program in the Independence, Mo. school district.
Chevette married her life-long partner, Charles “Chuck” Kneyse on May 19, 1973. In 1978 she gave birth to her son, Mark, after which the new family moved to Boise, Id. In 1982 they returned to the Kansas City area, moving to Blue Springs upon which she gave birth to her daughter, Danelle.
After her son was born, Chevette “retired” from professional nursing, to enjoy the role of mother, homemaker and active church member. She and her husband served in various leadership roles at Blue Springs Christian Church where they were members. She taught in the church’s Awana program, sang in the church choir, taught classes at her church as well as other area churches. Many will remember her engaging smile and warm and caring manner.
