Edward E. Kobe, 82, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark�s Catholic Church, Kansas City Hospice, VFW Military Assistance Program or to the Friends of Sugar Creek. Edward was born October 28, 1923 in Sugar Creek, MO to Mathias and Barbara (Karen) Kobe. He retired from Ford Motor Co. as a Maintenance Welder. Ed was a member of the American Legion 21 Post and VFW Post 3976. Mr. Kobe proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, 87th Infantry Division, Golden Acorn Unit with continental service route of France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Germany and Czechoslovakia and liberator of Bukenwald concentration camp. He is survived by his children Gregory G. Kobe and wife Judy, Antoinette Heater and husband Joe, Sheryl Azbill and husband Jim, Kevin Kobe and wife Lorri; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kobe was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Anna Marie (Anzicek) Kobe.
