Matilda Kobe

January 26, 1915 — December 1, 2007

Matilda P. “Tillie” (Lipovitz) Kobe, 92, Sugar Creek, died December 1, 2007 at the Independence Golden Living Center. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas and lived in Sugar Creek most of her life. She was a member of the St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, the St. Cyril’s Alter Society, the Onka Memorial Moma’s Club, the Sugar Creek Business and Civic Club, and the Sugar Creek Democratic Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve J. Kobe, her parents, Frank and Matilda Lipovitz, a brother Frank Lipovitz, four sisters, Alvina Lee, Mary Codding, Helen Swanson, and Loretta Huffman. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 5 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, where the rosary will be said at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in memory of Matilda Kobe.
