Ruby Louise Kolar, 92, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 27, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family will greet fiends after the service until 4pm at the chapel. Ruby was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Missouri, mostly Independence. She was married over 40 years to James M. Kolar. Together they had two children, James P. Kolar and Lyla F. Campbell (Kolar), which was their pride and joy. She worked hard her entire life as a wife, mother, sister, and aunt. Ruby was a secretary for many business including; Sears-Roebuck, doctor’s offices, and the billing office of the Sanitarium Hospital. She retired but continued working as a volunteer at the hospital. Ruby was also a pastor/evangelist wife and traveled throughout Missouri with her husband preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. She sang many solos at churches and events. Ruby had a beautiful voice loved by all who heard her. She was still singing with the Chaplin at The Groves just before her death. She taught Sunday school and ask everyone she met if they knew Jesus as their Lord. Ruby also in her heart adopted a loving special friend as a daughter, “Wiletta” who was faithful for years, gave love and support, and was at her side as she took her last breath. She also had a very good friend Virginia who was her “best friend” and shared many good times together. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 siblings, nieces, and nephews. She leaves behind a son James P. Kolar and his loving wife Jane, daughter Lyla F. Campbell (Kolar), and nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Great appreciation with thankfulness for the loving care provided by One Community Hospice and the staff at the Groves.
