Josephine "Jo" Adcock Korn (Adcock)

August 16, 1927 — September 4, 2014

Josephine Adcock Korn, 87, was born in Kansas City, MO on August 16, 1927.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard L. Adcock in October, 1985, and second husband, James E. Korn in February, 1994 and by her parents, Ignazio & Josephine Giocondo. Sisters, Ann Anello and Prudence Cannova, and brother Chris Giocondo.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Robert Adcock (Connie), Mark Adcock (Karen), Laurie Riggs (Shane); grandchildren, Lacy Ramsey, Dustin Riggs, Chris Adcock & Issac Adcock; great grandchildren, Calli & Cayden; sister Lena Polito, and the many friends and relatives she met along her journey as a loving wife, Worlds Best Mom, loving grandma, and good friend.

Jo, as she preferred to be called, possessed a quiet demeanor, loving personality, and sense of humor that she shared with those who knew her, especially her 3 kids who egged her on and laughed with her for some 50 years it seems. Her cooking was a treat every time, especially the meatballs. No matter what life brought her, mom kept the sense of humor we will miss so deeply. She was strong, never complained, and filled a place in our hearts that will never leave us empty. She was a member of Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church, Lees Summit, MO and the Red Hatters.

Thank you to Wilshire at Lakewood (Lees Summit, MO) and Grace Hospice for all the compassion and love you showed Jo. Our family appreciates all you did for Mom while in your care.

A family rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Presentation Church; 130 NW Murray Rd. Lee’s Summit, MO 64108 followed by a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
