Charles R. Kramer, Jr., 77, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at Independence Health Care Center. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at East Alton Community of Christ Congregation. Cremation. Mr. Kramer was born March 23, 1927 in Honolulu, HI, the eldest son of Charles R. and Priscilla (Piltz) Kramer. Charles and his brother Henry grew up in Kalama, HI and later Independence, MO. Mr. Kramer married Madora Belle Cain. He spent his career working in various capacities for the Federal Government. His favorite position was the year he spent on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer�s Sgt. Floyd that traveled the U.S. river system on a goodwill tour during the bicentennial. Charles lived in Tokyo, Japan for many years. Mr. Kramer enjoyed good music, good food and the company of others. He was an avid reader and knowledgeable in a wide variety of fields. Charles was ordained in the Community of Christ Church and was actively involved in the East Alton Congregation. He worked with the Sea Scouts and spent a great deal of time in the service of the church and others. Mr. Kramer is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth M. and Hal Brent; son Daniel G. Kramer; Tiona Shelton and husband Harry; Priscilla Dietiker, their children and cousins in Honolulu, HI.
