Veneta “Rosalie” Kramer, 94, formerly of Independence, MO passed from this life to the next on January 25th, 2017. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 West Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday January 29, 2017 at the chapel. Rosalie was born on October 29, 1922 in St. Joseph Missouri, to James L. and Mabel E. Pratt. Rosalie was baptized at the age of nine into the R.L.D.S. (Community of Christ) church and continued as a member her entire life. She graduated from Northeast High School in the Class of 1940. Rosalie started her working career as one of many “Rosie the Riveters” of World War II, until health issues sent her into map making for the Army Map service. After leaving the map service, she worked at the Herald House, Jones Store Company and finally as a volunteer guide in the Temple museum in Independence. Rosalie was preceded in death by her brother James Pratt, her sister Mary Lou Fye, her parents, her grandson Aaron Cochran and her husband Chester D Kramer. Rosalie leaves behind three children: David Kramer, Nancy Mangas, and Rebecca Anthony. She also leaves two step-sons, William Kramer and Richard Kramer. She will be forever loved and remembered by her children, her 12 grandchildren and her 18 great grandchildren.
