Walter William Kramer, Sr., 83, Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 18, 2013.
Walter was born February 15, 1930 in Independence, MO the son of William Otis and Martha (Mann) Kramer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War at the rank of Sergeant. Walter retired from the grocery business in 1993 as an assistant store manager. He enjoyed collecting cans for recycling and was a frequent visitor of Englewood Café and Little Richards Café.
Survivors include his son, Walter Kramer, Jr. and his wife Norma; daughter, Sharon Kavanaugh and her husband Charlie; son, Robert R. Kramer and his wife Ellen; daughter, Karen S. Woods and her husband Keith; step-son, Tom States; granddaughter, Brittany Bentzinger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Kramer in 2011; step-daughter, Anna Barker; a stillborn granddaughter, Kelsey Kramer; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. A celebration of Walter’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
