John Kuddes

The Lord called his child, John Kuddes, home on Sunday, June 20, 2004. Services will be 10 am, Sat., June 26 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 613 S. Main Street, Indep., Mo. Graveside services will be 2 pm, Sat. at St. Paul�s Lutheran Cemetery, Concordia, Mo. Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Friday, June 25 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th St. & 291 Hwy, Indep., Mo.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Lutheran World Relief - Human Services, or the American Diabetes Assoc. John was born on Sept 5, 1930, at home in Corder, Mo., to John and Christine Sophia Kuddes. He was baptized into the saving faith of Jesus Christ on Sept. 14, 1930, at Zion Lutheran Church in Corder. John reaffirmed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior through the rite of Confirmation on June 4, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sweet Springs, Mo. John married his high school sweetheart, Claire Adell Frerking on June 28, 1951. Their marriage was performed by Claire�s father, the late Reverend Horace R. Frerking. Their union was blessed with four children, John Robert, Karen Jeanne & Kevin Deanne, and Jeffrey Mark. John worked as a Marketing Representative for Skelly, Getty, and Texaco Oil Companies for 35 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 1991. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War era. John was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Kevin. He is survived by his wife, Claire, son John R. and wife, Jamie of Leawood, KS; daughter Karen Eckhoff and her husband Kevin of Indep., MO; and son, The Reverend Jeffrey Kuddes and wife Michele of Waltham, MN. He is also survived by a sister, Rosemary Elson of Springfield, MO. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren Aaron, Seth, Ryan, Caleb, Jacob, Naomi Kuddes and Meghan Eckhoff. The Lord blessed him with 73 years, 9 months and 15 days. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!
