Betty Jane Kuehn, 68, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 after a five-year struggle with a debilitating brain disease (PSP).
Betty was born October 2, 1941 in Flint, MI the daughter of Elden and Thelma Jane (Little) Jones. She grew up in Flint, MI and graduated from Flint Central High School, then graduated with a degree in Education from The University of Michigan-Flint and a Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. She worked as an English Teacher for more than 20 years at Goodrich Middle School. Betty enjoyed traveling, decorating, gardening, and was an accomplished pianist. She was active with various church groups and often liked to play bridge and volleyball.
Betty was preceded in death January 11, 2008, by her dear husband Rex Kuehn, and her parents. Survivors include her son David Kuehn and his wife Christine of Saline, MI; daughter LoraJane Haynes and her husband Todd of Lee’s Summit, MO; grand children Jacob, Daniel, Adam, Davey, Aaron, Joshua, TaylerJane and Austin Rex; and her sister Kay Smith of Dallas, TX.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO and a celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday also at Speaks. Inurnment will be at a later date at Wright Cemetery, Wright City, MO.
