Linda Marie Ladd, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday April 25th, 2021. She was 72. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Friday May 7th at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052.
She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ronald Ladd; infant daughter, Vickie Ladd; and her parents, Emil and Helen Soetaert.
She is survived in life by her son Kevin Ladd and his daughter Amber Ladd, her son Bryan Ladd, his wife Amie Ladd, and their children Blake and Lily Ladd; and her sisters Barbara Jobst and Mary Drury.
Linda was born the eldest daughter of Emil and Helen Soetaert on January 24, 1949.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School.
In 1967, Linda and Ronald Ladd were joined in marriage. They had three children, Vickie, who died
shortly after birth, Kevin and Bryan. Linda was a hardworking, loving wife and mother caring for the needs of her family. Ronald and Linda, during their early years enjoyed traveling, taking many family trips from Yellowstone to Hawaii. They also enjoyed attending country music shows, auctions and spending time with their extended family.
In the early 1990's Ronald experienced a traumatic head-injury and Linda was there, helping him
through the healing process every step of the way. For many years, Linda was a strong caregiver and
advocate for her husband, until he proceeded her in death October 2015.
Linda was a loving daughter to her parents as they aged and a solid rock for her sisters.
Linda sold classified ads for many publications, including the Catholic Key, from where she retired in 2020.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a dependable diligent worker, a faithful friend and sister. She faced many adversities in her life with grace, peace, generosity, a deep inner strength and humility. She will be greatly missed.
