Matthew Allen Lafferty, 58, passed away surrounded by his children and wife on January 25, 2021.
Matthew was born on January 18, 1963. He met the love of his life, Christina, in 1983, and they later married on September 14, 1985. He was a devoted husband and loving father to two children. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chiefs, Royals, and KU basketball. He loved bowling, fishing, hunting, going to the shooting range, and making memories with his family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Roy Lee and Martha Lillie Lafferty. He will be terribly missed by those who loved him. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 35 years, Christina Lafferty; their two children, Drew Lafferty (Heidi Peacock) and Brooke (Don) Rich. He was the best Papa to Trista, Zoey, Cash, and Gabby. He also leaves behind 9 siblings: Brenda (Kevin) Elwell, Larry (Jean) Lafferty, Gary Lafferty, Jerold (Debbie) Lafferty, Vern (Shirley) Lafferty, Lillie (Carl) Gould, Rebecca (Gregg) Mashburn, Deanna (David) Eaton, and Daniel Lafferty. Matthew always thought of Christina’s mother (Liz), step-father (Craze), father (Larry), and two sisters (Angela and Denise) as his own. He also left behind many other extended family and friends he considered family.
