Louis P. "Mike" Lafoe

Louis P. "Mike� LaFoe, died peacefully at his home in Independence MO on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the age of 65. Mike was diagnosed with brain cancer on September 11, 2003. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 21 at St. Mark�s Catholic Church, Independence MO. Cremation. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence. Visitation will follow from 4-6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice, or the St. Mark�s Parish Building Fund. Mike was born in Centralia IL on June 11, 1939 to Louis "Mike� and Zella (Cook) LaFoe. In 1960 he married Elaine Gunter in Wichita KS. They had six children and shared 44 happy years together. Survivors include his wife Elaine, of the home; their children, Craig and Jessie LaFoe, Newton KS, Michael and Bonnie LaFoe, Amsterdam MO, Mark and Joey LaFoe, Blue Springs MO, Teri and Chris Cross, Platte City MO, Karen and David Burke, Independence MO, and Julie Powers, Lake Lotawana MO; his brother Phil LaFoe, and mother-in-law, Mary Gunter, both of Wichita KS; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
