Clifford Lamb, 89, passed away March 4, 2022 at Research Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 30, 1932, in Weaubleau, Missouri to Dent and Achsa Lamb. Clifford graduated in 1951 from Weaubleau High School.
Clifford served in the U.S. Army between 1952 and April 1954. He was stationed first at Ft. Riley, Kansas and then in England. After returning home from the Army, Clifford went to work for Phillips 66 Bulk Station in Osceola, Missouri as a bookkeeper, along with delivering gas and propane.
Clifford married Faye Vaughn on May 8, 1954. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in March 1955 where he worked for the Vendo Company. During this time, he attended mechanic's school for about a year and a half in the evenings, while working full-time during the day. Clifford and Faye moved to Buckner, Missouri, in June 1958, where they rented then purchased their current house in 1960. To this union, three daughters were born; Darlene, Cathy and Carla.
Clifford started working in the spring of 1958 for Cornell Roofing Company in Independence, Missouri, and retired after 39 years, in 1997. During his years with Cornell’s, he worked as a roofer and later moved into the warehouse performing mechanic work and loading trucks for work crews.
Clifford ran a custom tractor business since the 1960s, plowing/disking gardens, mowing grass in the spring and summer months and pushing snow in the winter. He pushed snow as recent as February 2022. Clifford was not one to sit still and liked to keep busy. If he was not tinkering with a motor, or building something in his shop, you could find him in his garden. He was known for his beautiful vegetable garden which had been planted in the same spot from their early years in Buckner up through summer 2021. Many family members and friends were recipients of fresh vegetables from his garden.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Dent and Achsa Lamb, brothers Herbert Lamb, Charles Lamb, Ancel Lamb, sisters Frances Kerns and Dorothy Quick.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Nedra Faye Lamb; daughters, Darlene Dieckmann (J.T.) of Levasy, Missouri, Cathy Twente (Everett) of Napoleon, Missouri, Carla Deason (Jim Cazzell) of Camden, Missouri; brother Alvin Lamb (Gwen) of Athens, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Amanda Kennedy (Shaun), Carrie Henson (Todd), Jeff Dieckmann (Erin), Liana Twente (Darin Jones), Tyler Dieckmann (Seana Hussey), Cameron Deason, Rebecca Deason (Joey Hurley); six great-grandchildren, Jared Dieckmann, Josalyn Kennedy, Jenna Dieckmann, Rosa Henson, Madyson Kennedy, and Lane Dieckmann; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.
