Buddy Lee Lampkin, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023. He was 84. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am on Monday, February 6th, with a service following at 10:30am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St.: Independence, MO 64055. Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Appleton City Cemetery in Appleton City, MO.
Buddy was born September 1, 1938, in North Kansas City, MO to Everett and Opal (Rogers) Lampkin. He graduated Knob Noster High School then went on to work with his dad in construction for a few years before completing a successful career with what became known as TRW, first as a computer technician and retiring as a district manager.
On December 18, 1960, Buddy married his love and best friend, Carolyn Thomas. To this union, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Debbie. Buddy enjoyed fishing and golfing in his younger years and road trips with Carolyn and Debbie. He loved his Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, country music and western movies. But above all, Buddy adored time with his wife and daughter. He had a lovable, friendly spirit and will be missed by all who knew him.
Buddy is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Debbie (Mike) Brookshier; sister, Sheila (Jay) Knight; brother, Steve (Judy) Lampkin; sister-in-law, Judy Artz; brother-in-law, Bobby (Peggy) Thomas; several nieces and nephews; very dear friends for 62 years, R.L. and Sharon Wilmont; as well as 2 dogs he loved having in his life, Coco, and Molly.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers-in-law, Leslie Thomas, and Charles Artz.
