Oliver Lane

Oliver Lee Lane, 93, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Monterey Park Living Center. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at White Chapel Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Oliver was born March 5, 1914 in Joplin, MO to Alan and Stella (Omans) Lane. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Lane retired from Standard Oil Refinery in 1974. Oliver and his wife Elizabeth moved to Shell Knob, MO to enjoy 27 years of retirement fishing, boating and traveling. Mr. Lane loved his family dearly and was a dedicated husband and father. He is survived by his son William Lane and wife Linda; granddaughter Shelley Lane. Oliver was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Davis) Lane in 2000.
