Jeffrey David “Jeff” Lang, 54, of Independence, MO, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Jeff was born on September 30, 1965 and graduated from Truman High School in the class of 1983. He attended trade school before working for Armco Steel (later GST Steel). For 18 ½ years, he was a storekeeper for KCP&L and was involved in the IBEW Local 412 Union. He was a hobby enthusiast, and particularly enjoyed remote controlled cars and aerobatic drones. He loved everything to do with drones, from researching for hours to find the best parts, to building them from scratch, to modifying, testing, and flying them. He loved being involved in the Boy Scouts of America and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say with his son, Ashten. He was very intelligent, friendly, and helpful, and will be missed by so many.
Jeff’s survivors include his son, Ashten Lang; nieces Cristina, Jamie, and Mandy; parents-in-law Jerry & Gayle West; two dogs Taco and Brindle; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda; his parents; and his sister Jody Evans.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, from 6-8pm, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence. A private, live-streamed memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, at 2:00 pm. Committal will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
