Randy S. Langer was born on December 8, 1966, to Rudolph and Carol (Crose) Langer in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area. Randy had a very enthusiastic and passionate work ethic with anything to do with cars. He put his passion into creating a towing service in the Kansas City area in 1989 when he started Langer Tow. He began a dedicated working relationship with the City of Independence starting on their towing rotation which began in the early 90’s. Randy faced a lot of adversity with his health, which started around February 7, 2002, when he became visually impaired. This would not stop him from keeping his passion with cars going. He continued his fight with Diabetes and received the gift of life on August 13, 2010, with a kidney transplant. This gift of life was the greatest gift as he was blessed with 6 grandchildren since the transplant. In 2014, Randy received the Silver Star Award which is awarded by the American Towman. This is awarded to people in the industry who overcome adversity and are inspiring to the industry.
Randy also had passion for his family. On September 14, 2022, he and the love of his life, Cynthia Elmore-Langer, celebrated 34 years of being together. He was the greatest father and papa to his three children and six grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his car collection, always willing to help others, listening to car auctions, his love of music, great sense of humor and the best advice anyone could give.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Cynthia Elmore-Langer; three children, Samantha (Bryan) Pham, Sarah (Vu) Trinh, Andrew Langer (Shelly); six grandchildren, Aubree, Sophia, Ella, Jayden, Aiden, Lillian; his mother, Carol Monteil; sister, Robin (Steve) Cole; brother, Phillip Langer; his best friend, Joseph (Maria) Saitta; godparents, Edwin and Judith Gardner; Kelly Ross, a dedicated employee and friend; and many other loving friends and family.
