Linda was born on August 21, 1949 in Chester, PA to Thomas and Alice (Briscoe) Fry. She attended Gateway Senior High School in Monroeville, PA until her family relocated to Salina, KS where she graduated from Salina Senior High School in 1967, making life-long friends with “The Goddesses”. She continued her education graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. She spent most of her career at EDS, retiring in 2012.
Linda married the love of her life, Donald Lee Lankard on January 19, 1974, in Prairie Village, KS. They were actively involved in the Mustang Club of Greater Kansas City, where she served as Social Chair and made amazing friends and had many fun adventures.
Linda loved fiercely and generously, and family was everything to her; she was endlessly proud of her children and grandchildren. She was sweet and goofy with a loud, contagious laugh. Her personality was warm and inviting and she made friends of everyone who spent even a short time with her. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy--snuggling her grandchildren or watching them play, taking a joy ride with her husband, or having a simple dinner with friends.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Alice.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 48 years, Don; her children, Brian (Stacey) Lankard and Jennifer (Scott) Hopkins; grandchildren, Austin Minturn, Harley Lankard, Gabriel Lankard, Gauge Hopkins and Nora Hopkins; and her sister Jean (Jon) Mynderse.
