Betty Louise Lanning, 79, of Lee�s Summit, MO passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Thursday, June 5th at St. Regis Catholic Church; with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be said at 6 pm Wednesday with visitation following until 8 pm at the Church. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Regis Church or Odyssey Hospice. Betty was born January 31, 1924 in Fort Scott, KS to Charles and Della Grate. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Regis Parish. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James William Lanning, and is survived by her sons, James H. Lanning II and wife Sandy of Lee�s Summit, MO, and Thomas Joseph Lanning and wife Terri of Raytown, MO; daughter, Mary Andreanne Armbruster of Kansas City, KS; 19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Lois F. Lanning of Lenexa, KS; brother, William Dean Grate of Spring Hill, KS; sister, Julia Bell of Kansas City, MO; niece, Beverly Tweedie of Overland Park, KS.
