Patricia Marleen Larabee, 82 of Higginsville, MO passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at her residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Research Association. Patricia was born February 1, 1936 in Independence, MO to Edward and Doris (Harris) O’Connell and was a longtime area resident graduating from Raytown High School in 1956. She graduated from nursing school at the Independence Sanitarium and had worked at Resthaven as well as private medical offices and later did adult daycare. She was a member of the Noland School PTA and the Raytown High School Alumni Association. She was catholic by faith and had attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and other outdoor activities. Survivors include; her husband of 61 years, Sonny of the home; 5 children, Michael Ray Larabee and Robin Wayne Larabee and his wife Gina all of Independence, MO, Mary Kathleen “Kathy” White of Higginsville, MO, Joan Marie Short of Florida and Lisa Ann Bennett of Grain Valley, MO; 2 sisters, Carolyn Clark of Independence, MO and Sue Cardello of Blue Springs, MO; 10 grandchildren. 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Eric Clemens, Chris Larabee and Amy Larabee and a great grandchild, Phillip Alexander Bennett.
