Melvin D. "Mel� Larson, 77, Independence, Mo. died March 21, 2005 at his home. A Celebration of Mel�s Life will take place at 10 am, Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Mid-America Cardiology Research Fund, c/o Tracy Rasmussen, 3901 Rainbow Blvd. Ste. G-600, Kansas City, KS 66160. Mel was born Sept. 25, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN. He was the owner of his family�s business - M. Larson Fruit & Vegetable - for 60 years. Mel is survived by his wife of 54 years Jeanne Larson, of the home; sons Greg Larson and wife, Theresa; Tom Larson and wife Linda; all of Indep., Mo; John Larson, of the home; daughter Lori Wenig and husband Roger, Indep., Mo; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
