"Ron" Larson

Ron Larson, 56, of Independence, passed away in his father’s home, Friday October 26th, 2012. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 2nd, 2012 at the chapel. Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday November 3rd, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th Street, Independence MO. Private inurnment will be held at a later time.
Ron was born February 17th 1956 to Richard Alvin and Donna Rhea (Wilson) Larson in Trinity Lutheran Hospital of Kansas City, MO. He excelled in football and swimming at Northeast High school where he graduated in 1974. Ron was active in Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1970. He gained expertise in many areas earning awards and trophies for motorcycle racing. Ron was adventurous and especially enjoyed times with his family boating, water skiing, and remodeling homes with his dad. He was his nephew’s inspiration to play guitar. They enjoyed concerts and listening to Ron’s favorite singers together. Ron loved a good meal from his mom’s famous fried chicken to firing up the BBQ at family gatherings. He was a compassionate and responsible man. As a foreman for Asplundh Tree Expert Company he looked after the safety of his crew. Ron also collected many things including guitars, pinball machines, and even the western wear he adorned while line dancing. Ron had a big heart and will always be remembered for his love and compassion both by family and his friends.
He is survived by his father, Rick Larson of Independence, MO; sister, Linda Arend and husband Jim of Independence, MO; nephew, Michael Arend of Pasadena, CA; and niece, Kristina Thiede of Munich, Germany. Ron was preceded in death by his beloved mother.
