Brenda JoAnne Lauber, 73, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019. A visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020, with memorial service to start at 3pm, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO 64055. Cremation is planned. Brenda was born on December 16, 1946 to Salathiel and Genevieve (Lee) Allison in Cumberland, IA. During her senior year of high school, Brenda started dating Robert “Bob” Lauber, and after 3 years of dating, the two were married in 1968 and they spent 52 wonderful years together. Brenda and Bob had two daughters, Shelley and Heidi. When the girls were in high school, Brenda went back to school to earn her teaching degree and after receiving her master’s degree from Webster University, she began teaching elementary school and did so for over 30 years. Brenda and Bob loved traveling together, visiting all 50 states and 46 different countries. Brenda was known for making the most beautiful greeting cards, which were always personalized and special. She was a gifted seamstress, making her own clothes, as well as the girls’ clothes. Brenda was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother, always dedicated and generous. Brenda is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Shelley Lauber and Heidi Lauber-Horman; granddaughter, Allison Christine Courtney; siblings, Salathiel “Lee” Allison, Cobina Jacobs, Denise Mason, Michael “Mick” Allison, and Richard “Rick” Allison; and nine nieces and nephews, Heather Allison, Salathiel Lee Allison Jr., Becky Broce, Joel Mason, Kyle Mason, Travis Allison, Jordan Allison, Taylor Allison, and Lauren Allison. She is preceded in death by both parents; grandmother, Pearl Lee; and grandfather, Delbert Lee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Luke’s Cancer Research.
