Laverne Edwin Bruemmer, known to his loved ones as "Ed," was a man of many talents and a heart full of love. With a career that intertwined teaching and farm work, Ed touched the lives of many through his dedication and passion for his work. His journey began in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on May 10, 1934, where he came into this world as a beacon of light to his family.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in teaching with a major in business from UCM, Ed embarked on a fulfilling career that not only shaped young minds but also cultivated the land with care and diligence. His commitment to his students and the farm was unwavering, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
In 1993, Ed married his sweetheart, Sharron, creating a bond that stood the test of time and was a testament to the power of true love. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and unconditional support for each other.
Apart from his professional achievements, Ed found solace and joy in simple pleasures. He could often be found reading Bible scriptures, tending to his yard and garden, or casting a line into the peaceful waters while fishing. These hobbies reflected his deep-rooted connection to nature and spirituality, which brought him peace and contentment.
A proud veteran who served in the army, Ed exemplified loyalty, courage, and honor in all aspects of his life. His commitment to his country was a source of pride for him, embodying the values of service and sacrifice.
On August 6, 2024, in Carrollton, Missouri, Ed's journey on this earth came to a peaceful end. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his beloved wife Sharron Bruemmer; sons, Clark Bruemmer, Kirk Craven, Kelly Register; daughter, Kenna Register; many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will forever cherish the love and memories he shared with each of them. To his living family and friends, Ed was a pillar of strength and a beacon of light, guiding them with his wisdom and compassion.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ann Bruemmer; sister, Mary Ann and twin sister, Erlene.
A graveside service to honor the life and legacy of Laverne Edwin Bruemmer will be held on August 14, 2024, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. As we gather to bid farewell to a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness and compassion in our own lives, keeping his memory alive in our hearts.
In the gentle embrace of his memory, may we find comfort and solace, knowing that Ed's love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, his legacy forever etched in the lives he touched and the memories he created.
In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Ed's honor.
