In his community, he dedicated numerous years as a docent at the Kansas City Zoo and volunteered for the Nature Conservancy. He also was active in the Boy Scouts for over 18 years, where he made significant contributions to youth development and conservation efforts, and was a Sachem in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
A true enthusiast of history, Larry was passionately involved in ancestry research, often becoming the "go-to" person for family members eager to trace their roots. He was a man of many talents, had a green thumb and took immense joy in flower gardening. Larry Cavin will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
