Laura Leib of Prairie Village died November 29, 2007, after a short illness. Ms. Leib was born May 30, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo., where she grew up. She went to work for the Gas Service Company in 1941 during World War II. While working fulltime she worked on a degree at the University of Kansas eventually graduating with an English degree. She retired in 1977, and continued to live downtown for many years until moving to Prairie Village a few years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Lillie Walker Leib, her brother, Fred Leib, and her sister, Dorothy Leib. She is survived by cousins, Helen Jensen of Topeka and Mary Grace Morgan of Shawnee. She is also survived by numerous second cousins. She was a member of Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral in downtown Kansas City for many years. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cathedral in honor of the music program.
