Margaret “Louise” Leibold (McCarty)

Louise Leibold, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Carmel Hills Healthcare Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St S, Independence, MO, 64055. Her service will be at 2 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the South Crysler Restoration Branch, 16101 E Salisbury Rd, Independence, MO, 64050.
Louise was born March 10,1929 in Independence, Missouri to Charles Benjamin McCarty, Jr. and Margaret Mildred Stone. Her family moved to a farm in Lone Jack, Missouri in 1939 where she attended Lone Jack Public Schools. After graduation, she worked for the IRS and moved back to Independence. Louise was a devout member of the Eden Heights branch of the RLDS church where she met and married Forrest Leibold in 1955. They sang in “The Messiah” choir for many years at the RLDS Auditorium. During the course of their marriage they had two children, Kevin and Karen. Louise was a school bus driver until she retired. Her interests and passions we gardening, flowers, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be remembered by her son, Kevin F. Leibold and wife Carol of Independence, Missouri; daughter Karen L. Brown and husband Herb of Lone Jack, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Donald L. McCarty and wife Joann of Bates City, Missouri; brother Charles E. McCarty and wife Laura of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister Kathleen B. Jennings and husband Ron of Independence, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. Louise will be missed by her many friends. Her kind soul and giving heart will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ben & Mildred McCarty, husband of 28 years Forrest H. Leibold, brother David W. McCarty, great-grandson Charles G. Heuer, and great-grandson Wyatt W. Purinton.
Immediately following the service, Louise will be laid to rest at the Lone Jack Cemetery in Lone Jack, Missouri.
