Ruth Leimkuehler, 89, of Kansas City, MO passed away February 10, 2020. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, at the Suburban Chapel, with a 3:00 p.m. graveside on Thursday at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Corder, MO. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Ruth was born September 26, 1930 in Corder, MO to Charles Victor and Louise Marie (Schwanholt) Klussman. She went to K-8 at Mt. Leonard School, and went on to Malta Bend High School. During her working years, she was employed by Southwestern Bell, Lake City Ammunitions Plant and the I.R.S. She was a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and most of all, her family. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leland D. Leimkuehler; three brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by three children, Larry Leimkuehler (Debbie) of Reeds Spring, MO, Roger Leimkuehler of Halfway, MO, Shereen “Sherry” Klemenz (Jeff) of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
