Catherine Leonard

Catherine Leonard, Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at the Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the St. John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs, MO. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Mrs. Leonard was born October 3, 1917 in New York, NY to Harry and Theresa Kawara. She had worked as a crossing guard for the Nassau County NY Police Dept. She was married to William A. Leonard on February 26, 1938 and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Survivors include; a son, Dennis Leonard and his wife Audrey of Blue Springs, MO; a brother, Wes Winter of San Francisco, CA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, William A., JR in 1997, Robert in 1991and a sister Anna Inella.
