William Aloysius Leonard

William A. Leonard, Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the St. John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs, MO. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Mr. Leonard was born August 26, 1913 in New York, NY to Christopher and Emily (Sweeney) Leonard. He worked as a police office for the New York City Police Department from 1942-65. He was married to Catherine (Kawara) on February 26, 1938 and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Survivors include; a son, Dennis Leonard and his wife Audrey of Blue Springs, MO; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, William A., JR in 1997 and Robert in 1991.
