Ethel I. Lewis

September 18, 1915 — August 31, 2004

Ethel I. Lewis, 88 of Blue Springs, passed away, Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Ethel was born September 18, 1915 in Armuchee, GA. She moved to Jackson County with her family when she was 7 years old and in 1933 married Lawrence E. Lewis. Her husband preceded her in death in 1985. Ethel was a partner for many years with her husband in his residential and commercial construction business. She was active in the Plaza Heights Baptist Church of Blue Springs, where she was a member for more than 30 years. She enjoyed travel, gardening and tending to the flowers at her home. She was a loving mother who cherished her family and who will be missed by all. Ethel is survived by her brother, Richard Thomas of Independence, MO; a sister, Bobbie Boardman of Independence, MO; children, Joan E. Edwards of Excelsior Springs, MO, Marshall D., Lewis and Gregory K. Lewis both of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Salvation Army.
