Goldie Pearl Lewis, 97 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Elfindale Manor in Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Six-Mile Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Harvester’s Food Pantry. Goldie was born October 23, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Edgar D. and Bertha E. (Rolen) Rogers and has been a lifelong area resident. She was employed as a quality control analyzer for Brockway Plastics for 45 years until she retired in 1988. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her son, grandchildren, and her family. She will be missed by all. She was a member of the local chapter of DAR and longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was married to Delbert Lewis on June 5, 1951 and enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage until he passed away on March 2, 2019. She is survived by; 3 grandchildren, Lorri Trotter and husband Bill, Johnny Scott Julian and wife Danielle and Chris West and wife Sherry; 6 great grandchildren, Logan Trotter, Lukas Trotter, Makenna Julian, Macoy Julian and Mason Julian, wife Anna, and Madison Murray, husband Matt, 4 great, great grandchildren, Abigail Trotter, Thea Trotter, Braxton Julian and Charlotte Murray. She was preceded in death by her son, Virgil Charles Julian, Jr. who passed away in 2012 and 3 siblings, Marion Grant. Gene Rogers and George Rogers.
