William Fisher Lewis, Jr. passed away December 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the chapel. Burial will take place in Six Mile Cemetery. Lewis was born on June 30, 1959 in Independence, MO to William Fisher Sr and Marjorie (Murdock) Lewis. He was raised in the Independence area and attended William Chrisman High School. Following high school Lewis decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and joined Iron Worker’s Local #10, where he would remain for over 35 years. In 1979 he married the love of his life, Barbara Gray. Together they raised 3 children that were the light of his life. Lewis enjoyed Scouting, hunting, golf, and spending time with his family. He loved to get on the floor and wrestle with his children when they were younger, and now his grandchildren. Survivors include; wife Barbara Lewis; son Matthew Lewis (Amy); daughter Brandy Lewis (Chris Clark); son Malachi Lewis (Raechel Weavers); grandchildren Chayten, Zoe, Sophia, Nathaniel, and Bentley; mother Marjorie Lewis, sister Paula Andreas (Michael); nieces Laura Behler and Lynn Stoltz; great niece Talitha; a very large extended family and numerous friends. Lewis is preceded in death by his father, William F. Lewis, Sr. "Scissor Bill" in 2014. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or St. Jude’s.
