Ursula Liggett passed away January 21, 2018 at her residence in Independence, Missouri. Cremation is planned with private inurnment at a later date. She was born February 21, 1927 in Berlin, Germany to Johann Pawlowski and Franziska Golinski. After relocating to the United States as a young woman, she met and married Wade Berton Liggett. They eventually relocated from Independence, MO to the Portland, OR area, where Ursula worked for many years as a bookkeeper in her husband's podiatry office. Following her husband's death and her retirement, Ursula moved back to the Independence area where she became very involved in many volunteer activities that included hospice, Centerpoint Medical Center, and Lunch Partners of Independence. Ursula was an active member of South Chrysler Restoration Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two siblings. Ursula leaves behind her two sons: Forrest Liggett of Bates City, MO and Jeff Liggett of Sisters, OR, four grandchildren: Jesse Liggett of Enoree, SC, Brittnie Liggett of Bend OR, Jordan Liggett of Bend, OR, and Shelby Liggett of Bates City, MO, a sister, Gerti Lutkemeyer in Buchholz, Germany and three great granddaughters.
