J. Mabel Lightfoot

J. Mabel Lightfoot, 99 of Independence passed away Mon. Oct 23, 2006 at the Independence Health Care Center. Services will be 2:00 pm Sat. Oct 28, 2006 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO with the visitation being held from 1 - 2:00 pm. Burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Mrs. Lightfoot was born on July 18, 1907 to E.M. and May (Dooley) Sapp in New Mexico. She had been employed with the Kansas City School District until her retirement in 1969. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She had been a member of the Beaumont Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Lightfoot was preceded in death by her husband, W. Lawrence Lightfoot in 1986. She is survived by a son, L. Keith Lightfoot of Raytown. A sister, Velma Arnold of Grand Junction, CO. Three grandchildren Cindy, Dixie and Jeanette. Two great grandchildren, Colby and Nicole.
