Linda Carol Eckinger, born on February 19, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 23, 2024 in Blue Springs, Missouri. She had just turned 81 where days before, those close to her were able to celebrate with cake and chocolate!

Linda dedicated over 40 years of her life to the world of books as a librarian, primarily serving at the Kansas City Public Library. Her commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering a love for reading touched the lives of many in the community. She pursued her education at East High School and later earned her master's degree from Peabody in 1968, solidifying her expertise in the field she cherished.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Linda was a woman of many interests and passions. A devoted dog lover, she found joy in the companionship of her cherished Peachy. Additionally, Linda found delight in following the Royals and capturing moments through photography, preserving memories of those dear to her. She also loved traveling with her friends over the years, a trip with Shirley and her Aunts to Las Vegas to see Dean Martin was one of the most memorable. Another trip she looked forward to was the annual trip to see Betty and Shirley's Aunt Dorothy.

She was an avid collector of all things "Frog" and no one could resist hearing her "Donald Duck" voice. Linda grew up in Englewood Assembly of God and attended regular services for many years. Through her connection with the church she was able to gain the most amazing friends that she kept close to her for life.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; Charles Levi and Clara Eckinger, her brother; Charles Ray Eckinger, her very best friend; Shirley (Kirby) Hawkins who even named her youngest daughter after Linda and her beloved pup, Peachy.

She is survived by her two very good friends and confidants; John Rice and Betty Weaver, MANY cousins, niece; Jackie Huskins, nephew; Kevin Eckinger; great niece and many other friends and colleagues throughout the years.

Special thanks to all that took time out of their own lives to visit, spend time with Linda and take her places throughout the last few years, especially her cousin, Sue Thurman, and her friend, Donna Chandler. An extended heartfelt thank you to Stacy Chastain for being a guiding light through everything.
