Linda Joyce Ingels

December 17, 1955 — February 21, 2025

Independence

Mrs. Linda Joyce Ingels (nee`Gilbert), 69, passed away on February 21,2025, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born on December 17, 1955, in Independence, Missouri, Linda grew up with a strong sense of determination and warmth that carried her through life. She pursued her education at Platte Business College, earning a certificate in business. Her career as an insurance investigator spanned 23 years, during which she was known for her diligence and dedication. After years of hard work, she was able to enjoy an early retirement, a time she cherished as it allowed her to spend more time with her beloved grandchildren.

Linda’s family was the heart of her world. She is survived by her husband, Dave; her daughters, Terra and Lindsay; her son, Michael; and her cherished grandchildren- grandsons DJ, Giovanni, Aiden, and Elias, and granddaughter Aurora. She embraced her role as “Grammy” with love and enthusiasm, creating lasting memories with each of them.

A woman of deep faith, Linda was a devout Christian who found great joy in attending church services. When she was unable to attend in person, she remained connected by watching services online. Her faith extended into many aspects of her life-she enjoyed Christian movies and music and often wore t-shirts adorned with scripture that reflected the beliefs she held dear.

Linda had a vibrant personality and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who enjoyed romance novels as well as legal thriller books. Shopping brought her joy- whether browsing stores or indulging in online finds later in life. She loved going to the movies, especially romantic comedies and Christian films, and spent many evenings watching Law & Order and other favorite television shows. Traveling with her husband was another passion; together they explored new places and made wonderful memories along the way. One of their favorite retreats was their timeshare in Branson-a place she frequented with great fondness.

Those who knew Linda will remember her as loving and caring, always generous with her time and kindness. She had an outgoing personality that made it easy to connect with people wherever she went. Her joyous spirit brightened the lives of those around her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will not be forgotten.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family is grateful for the time they shared with her and will carry forward the love she so freely gave. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing while celebrating the beautiful life she lived.
