Denise C. Lingard, 60, of Buckner, MO, passed away, Sunday, November 2, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Lee’s Summit, MO. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO 64016 with visitation to follow. Denise was born December 17, 1953 in West Covina, CA to James Edward and Lila Mae (Tims) Davenport. She attended public schools in California and later graduated from Park College and received her nursing degree from Columbia College. She was a Registered Nurse and had dedicated her life to helping people. She had worked at The Groves Retirement Community and most recently worked for a local hospice organization. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, was a KC Chiefs fan and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by; a daughter, Sheri Brown and her husband Mick of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 grandchildren, Emma and Lauren Brown; a sister, Patricia Klann and husband Bob of Mechanicsville, MD; 3 brothers, Richard Davenport and wife Irene and James Davenport, Jr. and his wife Sheridan all of Buckner, MO and Troy Davenport of Independence, MO and 3 nieces and 7 nephews.
