Dorotha M. Lingelbach. 80, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 21, 2014. Services will be 10 am, Sat., Dec. 27 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the chapel. The family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 6900 College Boulevard #250, Leawood, KS 66211. Dorotha was born Oct. 11, 1934 in Fayetteville, AR. She earned her Associates Degree from the University of Arkansas and worked at Mt. Washington Elementary School. She was with the Kansas City (MO) School District for over forty years before retiring in 2007. She was a charter member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS and was very active in her church as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Deacon’s wife. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorotha was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a brother-in-law. She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years Clyde Lingelbach, of the home; daughter Karen Stallings and husband Ben, Kansas City, MO; son Ken Lingelbach and wife Pam, Independence, MO, brothers Claude Lower; James Lower, sister Hazel Stevens and husband Jerral, all of Fayetteville, AR; sister-in-law Ruby Crowe, Wichita, KS and grandchildren Jordan, Bobbie, Phillip and Jacob.
