Ellis I. Linnenbringer

June 19, 1915 — March 10, 2005

Ellis Linnenbringer, Independence, Missouri, passed away March 10, 2005. The family will receive friends at 9 am, Monday, March 14 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10 am, with the Reverend David T. Lyon officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Luke�s United Church of Christ, 727 N. Main, Independence, MO 64050 or Crossroads Hospice, 8540 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138. Ellis was born June 19, 1915 in Independence, Mo., and was one of ten children born to Henry and Anna Gausman Linnenbringer. He served his country during WW II as a member of the 101st Airborne Division, 907th Glider Field Artillery Battalion, and participated in the Allied Invasion in Normandy, France and the following European Campaign. He worked most of this life as a skilled carpenter and retired from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 1976. Ellis was a member of St. Luke�s United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge #76, the Ararat Shrine, Jackson County Shrine Club, VFW Post 1000, and the American Legion Post 21. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Linnenbringer; his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bill Trotter, Overland Park, KS; granddaughter Julie Danelle Green, Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Flora Luther and Leona Clark, both of Indep., MO; and Orpha Leigh Burch, Lee�s Summit, MO; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Ellis was a wonderful man, loved by all of his family, and was a loyal friend to all who knew him
